Dollywood Theme Park. Formally Silver Dollar City, was purchased by Dolly Parton in 1986 and jointly owned by Herschend Family Entertainment. It is located two miles north of Golfview in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Dollywood brings in about 3 million visitors each year which opens around the middle of March to the Christmas season making Dollywood the biggest ticketed tourist attraction in the state of Tennessee.

This park was first opened in 1961 and known as Rebel Railroad. Rebel Railroad was much smaller having a steam train, general store, blacksmith shop, and saloon. The train ride displayed an attack from civil war soldiers olf the Union where acters would fight them off as well as attacks from the indians, hence the name, "Rebel Railroad".

The areas of the park include:
Showstreet where you will find palace Theater, The southern Gospel Museum and Hall of Fame, and Celebrity Theater.
Craftsman's Valley containing the Tennessee Tornado coaster, Daredevil Falls flume ride, The Dollywood Grist Mill, The Valley Theater, Wings of America Theater, Robert F. Thomas Chapel, Eagle Mountain Sanctuary, Calico Falls Schoolhouse, Blazing Fury coaster, and craft exhibits.
Rivertown Junction where you find the Smoky Mountain River Rampage whitewater rafting ride, similar to the Grizley River Rampage at Operyland, The Tennessee Mountain Home, and The Back Porch Theater.
Adventures in Imagination which has the "Chasing Rainbows" Dolly Parton museum and the Dolly Parton's My People! show.
The Village containing The 3 ft narrow gauge Dollywood Express steam train, a carousel, Heartsong, and the Magic Shop.
The Country Fair Which has the rides The Dizzy Disk, Lemon Twist, the Amazing Flying Elephants, Dolly's Demolition Derby, Shooting Star, Busy Bees, Sky Rider, Waltzing Swinger, Piggy Parade, Lucky Ducky and The Scrambler.
Wilderness Pass: the SkyZip zip line, Wild Eagle, America's first winged coaster, and FireChaser Express, a dual-launch coaster that will launche forward and backward.
Timber Canyon Where you will find the Thunderhead coaster, Whistle Punk Chaser, Drop Line, the Mystery Mine coaster, and Lumberjack Lifts.
Jukebox Junction: the Rockin' Roadway car ride, The Pines Theater, and Lightning Rod, the fastest wooden roller coaster in the world.
Owen's Farm where you will find the Mountain Slidewinder water-toboggan ride, the Barnstormer, the upstairs part of The Grist Mill, a barn and plane styled Giant Swing attraction, and a soft play areas and a splash pad.
